Fences

Season’s have playoffs,
Summer battles fall.
Mid-July high scores

Shed like leaves, forgotten
As the river valley breeze
Gives way

To wild card runs
Of Indian summers’
Late bursts of color,

A hail Mary pass,
A bottom of the ninth
Sideways hat rally.

Nature,
At
The

Plate,
The
Swing,

This
One’s
Going

Back,
Back,
Back…

Time Looper

If at first you don’t succeed, try,
try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try,
try again.

Once you’ve succeeded,
be sure to immediately
make up for time wasted trying
and repeat lost days.

Example:
When translating Ulysses from
its original English to
a readable form—a process
which can take up to ten lifetimes—
be sure to read only one line
per day, so you don’t lose track of
all that mismanaged time and can
revert back to day one at your
leisure.

Having thus reverted,
try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try,
something new, like: learning French; card
throwing; piano lessons; ice
sculpting; choreographed acts of
heroism, love-making, or
theft; self-sacrifice; amateur
prognostication; or perhaps
all of the above.

However,
if at all possible, avoid
activities which may serve to
frustrate or undermine your new
looping lifestyle.

It may well be
virtually impossible
to get in shape, master any
new sport or gymnastic routine,
or write a screenplay, due to the
nature of the time looping laws.
