Monument to Scale

Everything of importance made it
into the Museum of Us, but the
main exhibit, an epic collection,
was the Monument to Scale.

Showcased there

were all those tiny moments and distant
rememberings, and the humble objects
that accompanied them:

pillows the size

of a small car;

miniscule running shoes;

a galactic television and its
matching sofa cushions;

a tidy bed,

neatly made and covering three football
fields, its mussed and much ruffled counterpart
on display near the fifty yard line, placed
delicately beneath a microscope.
