Five By Five Hundred was founded by Thom Dunn and Brian McGackin in the spring of 2009 as an outlet for their various creative scribblings (read: as a hard deadline to force them to actually write, instead of just talk about it). The initial idea was cribbed from a post by famed Internet Jesus Warren Ellis, which proposed a rotating cast of writers, each one producing some form of written content on a specific day of the week with only one stipulation: posts are not to exceed 500 words.

Over the past several years, Five By Five Hundred has expanded from five writers to seven (while still retaining its catchy moniker), and has reached over 50,000 readers. Our current lineup is as follows:
